Websites have evolved from standard pages and contact forms to fully blown advert and media driven interactive websites.  Using videos on your website is an excellent way of keeping visitors on your website, videos are also good to promote your business and your products – if you have not done this yet – you should.

You could take a video of yourself (the business owner) presenting your business or your products, giving a demonstration or just explaining why your product or service is soooo good.  Then you could upload it to your YouTube account (the one that I create for you!) and also show it on your website – who would not want the extra publicity?

You can upload your videos to your website in a number of formats such as .avi, .wma, .swf – these types of media are supported by Realplayer, Quicktime player, Windows Media Player, Shockwave or even directly off of YouTube for ease of use.

TV advertising is now being used in connection with website video production, TV advertising companies are using advertisements to advertise websites and 95% of all TV adverts have changed their format to appeal to internet users, soon will come the day when TV advertising is just about advertising a website.

With the expansion of Internet and telephone services providing high download speeds websites, blogs and online communities can use video towards their advantage. There are many great reasons for using video on your website regardless if you’re a business owner, web designer or novice in new media.

* Using video on a website or blog can add another level of trust with your target audience. A video shows an individual speaking online provides another level of interactivity to the user.

* A video can provide a personal touch, therefore, making the information more believable. The viewer can see the passion, the expression and the body language expressed by the person in the video.

* Video is exciting. The power of video makes using the Internet more interesting and more eye-catching for the viewer. An online video on a website is likely to get more attention than a 1000 word article or blog post.

* An interactive video will stand out from the crowd. Interesting content will give visitors a reason to return to your site or blog.

* Online video can make you seen as an expert and eventually a well-known authority figure in your chosen niche.

* Videos provide excellent methods of learning. If you are a teacher, lecturer or hosting a seminar you can easily create an online video for your target audience.

So, if you have not already thought about getting a media rich website, start thining about it before your competitors do!!
